Alumnae programs

The 2025 WATTLE Alumnae Symposium, held on 28 and 29 April and hosted by the University of the Sunshine Coast, brought together a vibrant cohort of over 45 alumnae from across the higher education sector.

This two-day event created an engaging platform for professional connection, leadership dialogue and the celebration of alumnae achievements. Guided by the theme “Leadership and Wellbeing in Changing Times,” the symposium encouraged reflection on how leaders can navigate complexity while sustaining personal and collective wellbeing.

The program featured an official welcome from Professor Helen Bartlett, Vice-Chancellor and President, University of the Sunshine Coast, and keynote presentation on the topic of Leadership, Integrity and Self-care in Public Life, by Sunshine Coast City Council Mayor, Cr Rosanna Natoli. The complimentary line-up of alumnae speakers, panel discussions, interactive workshops and walking reflection all offered space for meaningful conversation and contemplation, and informal networking opportunities helped deepen connections and foster a strong sense of community among participants.

The symposium reinforced the value and momentum of the WATTLE alumnae network, showcasing its ongoing role in advancing inclusive, values-based leadership in academia. Delegates left the event feeling inspired, supported, and equipped with new insights to lead with impact in their institutions and beyond.
